Le Cheri.

European Couture and Victorian Gardens.

This period and costume drama seems to be set in a fantasy world of rich and delicate desires. A retired courtesan, Lea, is played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Rupert friend portrays her wandering lover, Cheri. The object of affection in this film is not set at the lady, but the young man, Cheri, who wears silk pajamas and Lea's pearls. The scenery is filled with luxury Victorian furniture, a fantasy garden, rich springtime flowers in full bloom and magnificent colors inspiring Monet.
