"And now, I said, let me show in a figure how far our nature is enlightened or unenlightened: --Behold! human beings living in a underground den, which has a mouth open towards the light and reaching all along the den; here they have been from their childhood, and have their legs and necks chained so that they cannot move, and can only see before them, being prevented by the chains from turning round their heads. Above and behind them a fire is blazing at a distance, and between the fire and the prisoners there is a raised way; and you will see, if you look, a low wall built along the way, like the screen which marionette players have in front of them, over which they show the puppets. The mirror on my wall
Casts an image dark and small
But I'm not sure at all it's my reflection.
I am blinded by the light
Of God and truth and right
And I wander in the night without direction.
So I'll continue to continue to pretend
My life will never end,
And flowers never bend
In the rainfall

The pictures are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow have you been??
I have been good! I decided to post more because a surge of inspiration hit me from the aura that arose when I undusted my mind of schoolwork. I am graduating soon and am to decide on some college, picking my own jail cell...I just don't want a window so there won't be a beautiful garden to tease my fancy.
ReplyDeleteHow have you been doing?
I graduated recently...well sort of, my marks don't come until May. College seems to be in everyone's mind right now. I'm scared to think about my jail cell.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing fine too..a bit unmotivated, but hopefully it shall pass.
